Scilly Art
Saturday 3rd July : 6pm till 8pm : New Inn Restaurant, Tresco
On Saturday 3rd July The Islanders go all arty! They will be hosts with the most at an exhibition of local amateur and pro artists at The New Inn dining room between 6pm and 8pm. The event was an innovation by Jane Ash to give those island artists who like to dabble in their spare time a chance to show – and hopefully sell- their artwork. There are also some very welcome contributions from local professionals who want to kindly support this fund-raising initiative.
In the absence of Jane from the island, Lisa Roberts has taken over the reigns in getting the exhibition up and running with the assistance of Ellie Tabron and Jo Ash, all of whom will be showing their own artwork. Some amazing talent has surfaced from around the islands, parcels of jewellery, feltwork, pottery, printing, photography, glasswork, crafts together with acrylic, watercolour and pastel paintings have been arriving daily. Even Steve Ash is getting creative making frames and furniture in his megashed! The exhibition will certainly be worth a visit,
So do come along, enjoy the show, enjoy a glass or two of wine (£2 suggested donation per glass) and purchase yourself something Scilly to brighten your home. Payment will be accepted by cash or cheque on the night or by credit card or paypal through the website, at least 50% of all sales will go direct to The Scilly Mission’s nominated charity – The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the remaining 50% to the artist. Some have donated the full 100%!
And, of course, Pete the Saxo will be there as well!
