• Japanese Car Company awarded the contract

After countless hours of matching the technical attributes of as many 1.2 litre (or less) cars as we could on AutoTrader and similar, The Islanders have decided on the chariot that will hopefully take them 10,000 miles to Mongolia.

  • Considering reliability, build quality, fuel consumption, power (although at that engine size, they all fall into the "pathetic" category), load capacity, ground clearance and laughability, we have come to the conclusion that the Suzuki Ignis is the vehicle of choice.
  • We have a meeting with Mr Dorrien-Smith of Tresco Estate this week and will be aiming to purchase the car this month, with the aim of getting it shipped to the island for the New Year.

  • An example of the Ignis:

Keep in mind, this car has to transport:

  • James
    Will
    Mackey
    Fuel (including 2x 35l cans)
    Water
    Food
    Clothes & personal posessions
    Extra battery
    Oil
Enough spare parts for any (well, most) eventualities
    Tents & sleeping bags
    Laptop & camera equipment
    4 spare wheels & tyres
    Tools

  • Perhaps a tight fit!
