The Islanders feel that this challenge we are soon to undertake is more than just the three of us - with many more behind the scenes doing so much to give us a fighting chance of actually making it. Jo Ash and her wonderous organizational abilites; Nick Shiles, super mechanic who's prepared the car; Dean Whillis and his commercial contacts; and the countless other supporters and companies who have donated time, services and cold hard cash for our charity.
So, keeping everyone up to date is a necessity for us. Not only do we have daily blog and video diaries planned, we also set about looking for a way of using a GPS Tracker to update the website on our position. Ideally, one that could keep a constant eye on us, so any visitor to the site can immediately zoom in to a map and look at what road or dirt path we might be traversing.
Enter, The Worksmart Group! Sam Murray, the director of the Spot GPS, was happy to support us by providing The Islanders with a fully fuctioning Spot GPS unit. Able to send our position via satellites throughout the challenge, we will be aiming to update the interactive map every 15 minutes!
We thank Sam for the great help - if you require GPS trackers or just some friendly advice, please do get in touch with them!
